State owned Telecom Player Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has recently bagged a strategic partnership with Search engine and Internet giant Google for expanding its WiFi presence across the country. The new initiative will boost BSNL operational activity and thus helping its customers to use BSNL high-speed internet services on WiFi.
With this new association, people across India will be empowered to enjoy BSNL’s free WiFi services seamlessly.
Vivek Bansal, Director (CFA) of BSNL, said, “We have been partnering with various technology companies upgrading our platforms and increasing our customer reach in this era of ever-increasing demand of high-speed internet.”

It was remarkable partnership between both companies on the occasion of World Telecom Day, state-run telecom major BSNL has partnered with Google to increase access to its WiFi footprint in the country. With the launch of this service, people across the country will be able to enjoy BSNL’s free WiFi services. This initiative will allow customers use BSNL’s high speed internet services on WiFi.

BSNL Chairman Anupam Shrivastav on World Telecom Day made a soft launch of the BSNL – Google Station free WiFi services. There are 38,000 BSNL WiFi hot spot locations operational in India. One can access these by buying WiFi vouchers that are priced starting at Rs 19.
Google told that previously last year in 2018 they were in discussions with couple of stakeholders including telecom operators and internet service providers (ISPs) and state governments.

BSNL recently joined hands with Ciena for 5G trials in India. BSNL has already tied up with companies such as SoftBank, Coriant and Nokia for 5G readiness.
“5G is a part of Digital India mission launched by our Prime Minister, and we should not be left behind in adopting newer technology and must go together with rest of the world,” BSNL chairman Anupam Shrivastava said.
