Like Domestic and International flights travel, now you will be able to buy many other products including shopping, cream, powder, FMCG products while traveling on the train.
The Ahmedabad division of Western Railway has launched a new service, in which passengers will be able to purchase other items of consumption including cream, powder on MRP during the journey.
The items available on the trains include household products, oral care, skincare, hair care, cosmetics and health-related items, paper products, confectionery, stationery and other products, available as per the printed maximum retail price.
Indian Railways has introduced on-board shopping feature, similar to those in aircrafts allowing the passengers to shop for various cosmetic and FMCG products. Initially, 16 trains have been shortlisted for this pilot project. Depending on the viability and success of this project, this feature would be implemented on a wider scale with other premium trains.
Recently, first of its kind initiative was undertaken by Indian Railways to provide head and foot massage services to its passengers for Rs 100.
Now passengers will be able to shop while traveling in the train . Indian Railways said that passengers can purchase cosmetics, stationery and other items at maximum retail price (MRP) in some trains from Thursday. This initiative has been started in the Ahmedabad division of Western Railway . This facility will be available in Ahmedabad (Mumbai Central) Ahmedabad Karnavati Express and Ahmedabad (Mumbai Central) Ahmedabad Double Decker Express.

Railways said that this service will give passengers an opportunity to purchase goods of everyday consumption (FMCG) during the journey. This service will be available for people in both directions. For this, there will be a facility to make digital payments . Other products, including household items, dental hygiene items, skin and hair care products, cosmetics, health items, confectionery products like chocolate, will be available on Maximum Retail Price for passengers.
