After quietly suffering verbal attack from MNS chief Raj Thackeray five years back, superstar Amitabh Bachchan seems to have decided to shake hands with him and end the acrimony between the two.
For the first time in almost five years, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) appears to have softened its stand towards mega-star Amitabh Bachchan.
The MNS invited Bachchan at a party function in Mumbai on Monday evening in which Raj Thackeray will also be present on the dais, a top official said.
Confirming the development, Shalini Thackeray, MNS vice-president, said Bachchan has accepted the invitation to attend the function as the chief guest. Shalini Thackeray, who also heads the party’s film wing MNS Chitrapat Karmachari Sangh, said she and another office-bearer Amay Khopkar had gone to invite Bachchan for the function which he has gracefully accepted.
When asked whether the acrimony of the past few years between Raj Thackeray and Amitabh Bachchan has ended, she said,”There was nothing between the two. Both of them have been communicating with each other on the phone. But yes it will be the first time both will be sharing a platform.” Actor Sachin Pilgaonkar has also been invited for the function.
